DJ Kue is a well known DJ out in St. Louis, MO known for rockin’ venues all night long with his nonstop party style. He is a true talent.   7. Where did your stage name come from? The cue button on the mixer. I changed the C to K and and DJ Kue was born!

  9. Where did you start your career? My bedroom at my parents house!
  10. What city do you represent? St. Louis, MO.
  11. What gave you that initial push? DJ Jazzy Jeff, JD The DJ, 1 Ruf DJ and the Music.
  12. How long have you been in the industry? 13 years!
  13. If you had to give a thank-you speech, who would you thank and what would you say? I would thank my mom for supporting me and putting up with all the noise coming out her basement in the earlier years and all the other dope STL DJs that I bit there style from to create my style.
  14. What makes you a softie? My Min Pin Rambo.
  15. What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? Everything!
  16. What are three hobbies of yours other than what you do? Shooting guns, Sports and collecting sneakers.
  17. Pepsi or Coke? Sprite.
  18. Rap or Hip Hop? Both have their own place!
  19. House or Dubstep? House and Trap.
  20. What do you eat a lot more than anything else? Chicken!
  21. What was the first event you ever played at/put on? Opened for Biz Markie at the Spot Light because my cousin was the DJ/Promoter/Light guy, and he got too busy to DJ, so I had only been playing around for about 6 months but played it safe and did a good job.
  22. What are some of your accomplishments in the field? Guitar Center DJ Battle Regional Finalist, Kool Mixx DJ Battle Regional Finalist, 2012 Midwest DJ Throwdown Champion, 2012 Rane 62 Battleground Champion, 2010 and 2011 Red Bull Thre3style’s Competitor.
  23. What makes you different than everybody else in the industry? True open format DJ who’s not afraid to play RAP MUISC.
  24. Do you produce? If so do you prefer performing or producing? Producing is the new me. Performing is more familiar, but producing is becoming apart of the performances.
  25. Who would you love to perform with? DJ Jazzy Jeff.
  26. What’s your longterm goal? More Shows, More Shows, More Shows and Production.
  27. When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out? Watching a movie!
  28. Funniest thing that ever happened at an event? Wow that could be a lot of things. On my 31st birthday, my friends got me wasted while I was playing, so I played the same song twice and then just walked away from the turntables and was like I’m too drunk, f*ck it!
  29. What advice would you give to up and coming artists? Practice practice practice and when you think you have it, practice some more.
  30. What are your goals for 2013? Just more production. Also to win the Sprite Spin in February, and hopefully compete and win the Reb Bull Thre3style again if they have it in my region.

DJ Rostam is a young college student and aspiring DJ from St. Louis, MO residing in Columbia, MO. He currently attends University of Missouri-Columbia where he continues to bring his creativity and talent keeping parties rockin' all night long. He currently holds shows in Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis, MO. He cares to bring uniqueness and originality to the table at all times. His signature sound of quirky, electro, house and dirty pop ignites across the atmosphere of being. DJ Rostam also writes and publishes for Livingthecollegelife.com, and runs the music section on the website. Nowadays he focuses on finishing school, DJin' and publishing. With 5 years of experience in the industry, DJ Rostam is no where near the stopping point. " With positivity comes success," he says.
