The Best Movies To Watch This Fall

thor 2Thor: The Dark World

When: November 8th

Who: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, and more.

Why You Should See It: Uh, need we say anything more than “Chris Hemsworth”? In all seriousness, though, the draw of “Thor: The Dark World” is all in the plot. The first film kept audiences captivated with the prodigal god’s exile to earth, love story with a beautiful human scientist, and villainous younger brother with an endearing sassiness (perfectly executed by Tom Hiddleston). The new film follows the same characters–and some new ones–through a whole new adventure!

wolf of wall street

The Wolf of Wall Street

When: November 15th

Who: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey,Spike Jonze, and more.

Why You Should See It: This film has already started the Oscar buzz; but then again, what Leo film hasn’t? Maybe this one will actually get him the golden statue! Based on a true story, “The Wolf of Wall Street” shows the ups and downs of the stock market in a fun (and shocking!) biopic style. The trailer alone is tons of fun… this is definitely looking to be one of the best films of 2013.

hobbit 2

 The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug

When: December 13th

Who: Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Cate Blanchett, and the newly single Orlando Bloom.

Why You Should See It: Peter Jackson’s take on “The Hobbit” has entranced both new fan AND lovers of the original Tolkien novel. Bilbo Baggins is expertly portrayed by Martin Freeman, who captures his eccentricities with seeming ease. The next installment of the trilogy looks action-packed and emotional… plus, Smaug is voiced by the masterful Benedict Cumberbatch! We simply can’t wait to watch.

enders game

Ender’s Game

When: November 1st

Who: Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, and more.

Why You Should See It: The “Ender’s Game” originated as a popular young-adult novel, which will undoubtedly draw twenty-somethings to theaters in “Harry Potter”-esque numbers. The sci-fi thriller features a young boy destined to save the world, featuring now-teenage actors who have already proven their skill in films such as “Let the Right One In” and “True Grit.”
