Movies for 2012 are promising
Well, at least if you like the big summer box office kind of movies. Theaters are preparing for a blood bath between big budget–action packed–super hero movies, all fighting for your attention and money. Here I break down the top contenders for you. Learn when the movie comes out, watch the trailer, and then get upset when you realize you have a few months to wait for it’s release.
This Summer, both new and historic heroes will debut their adventures. See the old-school heroes with guns, badges, and wit OR the heroes who dress up in skin tight colorful outfits that make you aware how much better they are at everything compared to you.
Frankly, I’ll take a little bit of both. I may start with a little spider and bat, then work my way to some Abe Lincoln, Cop/alien shootout… What do you think? Let us know which movies you’re excited about below.

The Avengers

Six of the world’s most beloved heroes join forces in attempt to defend our world from extinction from Loki(villain from Thor) and his army. Movies for 2012 need to watch out. Marvel combined Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye, with Nick Fury(leader of S.H.I.E.L.D) in this highly anticipated action-packed film that has had me counting down all 2,179 days since its first trailer release.

The everlasting war within our universe continues as Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and now Josh Brolin take on the trouble-seeking creatures of our galaxy in the third installment of the Men In Black franchise. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. What on Earth is going on here? After doing necessary research and viewing trailers, this movie looks AMAZING. One of our country’s most successful president’s fighting vampires. What more can you ask for? I know. How about Daniel Day-Lewis playing Abraham Lincoln? This movie has “exciting” all over it. Be sure to check out this action-packed historic flick that is guaranteed to entertain. See Honest Abe slay vamps in theaters June 22.
G.I Joe: Retaliation
Release date: June 29, 2012
Action! Action! Action!
After viewing this trailer for the first time, I was immediately immersed inside a preview of an action-packed adventure that releases on June 29th. Starring in this sequel are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Channing Tatum and even Bruce Willis. Then again, why wouldn’t Bruce Willis want to get in on the action in this film. For fans old or new (even if you only had one action figure growing up), this film is sure to entertain with action, some action and if there’s time…..ACTION! Set to release June 29 of this year.
The Amazing SpiderMan
Release date: July 3, 2012
The untold story of one of the most iconic superheroes will finally be told as SpiderMan(formerly played by Tobey Maguire) will be played by Andrew Garfield(from The Social Network) in the new-concept film, “The Amazing SpiderMan”. As mentioned above, this new adventure will be adopted from another storyline from the SpiderMan comics. By now, any fan of the web slinger knows that The Lizard will be featured as the main villain in this installment. Additional villains are yet to be uncovered. This film is definitely worth seeing if you’ve ever been a fan of the previous three films…..or if you’ve ever tried crawling on your apartment wall. See “The Amazing SpiderMan” in theaters July 13 of this year.
The Dark Knight Rises
Release Date: July 20, 2012
Okay. This is it. The so-called conclusion of our caped crusader. Christian Bale returns as Batman in the third and final chapter of this series. This highly anticipated film will feature Tom Hardy(Inception) as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Also featured will be Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Cain(played Alfred in two previous films). After the legendary, posthumous, Oscar winning performance by Heath Ledger as The Joker, standards are set high for this installment. I personally am a huge Batman fan and will most likely be the first in line at the midnight opening. Get ready for yet another legendary Batman adventure directed by Christopher Nolan. Set to hit theaters July 20 of this year. See you there!
The Bourne Legacy
Release Date Aug 3, 2012
Jason Bourne, step aside! Jeremy Renner plays Aaron Cross in this new version in the “Bourne” series. From what I can tell from the trailer is that Aaron Cross gives himself to a military/government program that turns him into a super human with super intelligence. Corruption and action await in this film also starring Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton. Who knows…maybe Matt Damon might make a cameo appearance. Be sure to catch it in theaters August 3rd of this year.
